Warranty Policy

Unless otherwise stated, MARTEK INSTRUMENTS, INC. warrants its equipment to be free from defects in material and workmanship and to perform in accordance with applicable specifications for five years (one year for portable equipment) from date of shipment. All conductivity sensors are guaranteed for life.

MARTEK will provide free service at the factory, including parts, labor and transportation back to the customer, for any malfunction of its products which are returned transportation charges prepaid.

Effective January 1, 2025, all repairs, recertifications, and returns must fill out the form on our Form Submittal Page (https://www.martekinstruments.com/pages/services) and submit it to us prior to returning any equipment. While we do not require a Return Material Authorization Number, if you would like to use one for your own records, you can use the day of submittal by utilizing a day/month/year format. For example: 01062025.

Please note, we will no longer accept returns or repairs without a Submittal Form. By following the new Submittal Form Policy, we will be able to better control the inflow and processing of repairs and/or recertifications in order to provide a quicker turnaround.

Customers desiring to speak to the Service Department can reach them by telephone at (800) 628-8834, fax (919) 790-2375, or e-mail info@martekinstruments.com to obtain return authorization. The information required will be the complete model number and serial number of the product and a brief description of the problem.

A complete and detailed statement of the reason for return should accompany the unit. If possible, include a copy of sample reading or a printout.

Returned units should be packed as well as they were when first shipped. If possible, use the original packing. Do not return detachable cords or manuals with the unit.

MARTEK reserves the right to void this warranty if the product has been subjected to misuse, neglect, accident, improper installation or application, and for consumable items such as batteries, membranes, or solutions.

This warranty is expressly in lieu of all other obligations or liabilities on the part of MARTEK. MARTEK neither assumes nor authorizes any other person or organization to assume on behalf of Martek any other liability in connection with the sales or use of MARTEK instrumentation.

The new Mark 22 Trade-in Program (introduced August 2024): 

Based on the age and condition of your Mark 22, you can receive credit towards the purchase of a new one. Below is the schedule:

                                    0-5 years old receive a $750-$1,000 credit

                                    6-10 years old receive a $500 credit

                                    >10 years old receive a $250 credit

Simply return your Mark 22 to Martek with a note requesting a credit. We will evaluate each one to determine its age and condition and then inform you of your credit. It’s that simple.
